Sandra Louise Bowie was born on September 20, 1950, in Shreveport, Louisiana to the proud parents of Dellie Daniel and Margaret Rice. She was the second of six children.  Sandra accepted Christ at an early age at Lake Bethlehem under Reverend Doctor Joseph Martin and later joined the Jewel Street Baptist Church.

Sandra was a 1968 graduate of Linear Junior-Senior High School where she participated on the girl’s dance drill team.  She went on to attend college at Brookhaven College.  Sandra retired from Sysco foods where she worked for over 10 years.  She enjoyed decorating, dancing, having fun, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was united in holy matrimony to Warren Dell Bowie. 

Sandra gained her wings and transitioned on Sunday, January 9, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her parents: Dellie D. and Margaret Rice and brother: Larry James Rice. Sandra leaves to cherish her memories, her children: Trameka Bowie Martin (Eric) Houston, Texas, Corey Bowie of Miami, Florida, and LaToya Bowie Burns (Christopher) Dallas, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; siblings: Jerry Rice (Donna), Mary Rice Pitts, Danny Rice (Dianne), and Janice Rice Pickens. 

Sandra will have an Open Visitation, Friday, January 14, 2022, from 2 pm-7 pm in the Chapel of Washington's & Smith's Paradise Funeral Home-Shreveport and will be interred at 12 noon on Saturday, January 15, 2022, in the St. James Baptist Church Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana.
