Raven Cyrell Carroll was born on January 24, 1979, to the late Deborah Henry Mims and Rufus Carroll, Jr. in Shreveport, Louisiana.   On Thursday morning, March 19, 2026, she peacefully transitioned from this life to be with her Lord and Savior, entering into eternal rest after a courageous battle with a long-term illness.

At an early age, Raven attended St. Luke C.M.E. church on the Cooper Road in Shreveport, Louisiana.  She was an active participant in Sunday School and a joyful member of the children’s choir, where she enthusiastically made a joyful noise unto the Lord.  As she grew in her faith, she later became a devoted and faithful member of New Testament UPC in Shreveport, Louisiana.

In 2001, Raven united in Holy Matrimony with Quinton Gray.  In 2002, they relocated to Dallas, Texas, where she began building a new chapter of her life grounded in God, centered on family, and filled with love.

Raven was preceded in death by her mother, Deborah Henry Mims; her maternal grandparents:  Arthur Lee Henry, Sr. and Pearlean Wells Henry; her paternal grandparents:  Rufus Curtis Carroll, Sr. & Ruth Russell Carroll; her grandparents:  Joe Lee Hammick & Ruth Lovell Roquemore; along with a host of beloved uncles, aunts, and cousins.

She leaves behind to cherish her precious memories her father:  Rufus Curtis Carroll, Jr., and her dad:  Gregory Mims, both of Shreveport, Louisiana; her beloved children: three sons, Joshua Carroll, Jordan Carroll, and Jeremiah Gray, all of Dallas, Texas; and two daughters:  Jyzmin Gray and Joy Gray, also of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by one brother:  Derrick Henry (Jacquetta) of Birmingham, Alabama; two sisters:  Charissa Henry & Megan Carroll of Dallas, Texas; and six cherished grandchildren: Golden Olivia Carroll and Kaylie (Joshua), Treasure Amiyah Reign Carroll (Jordan), Kaisen Terrell Gray (Jeremiah), and Imerald Cyrell Gray and Tysheem Koi Gray-Morris (Joy).  She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Raven will be deeply and profoundly missed. Her radiant smile, vibrant spirit, and her gift to uplift and encourage others will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

His loved ones are very precious to him, and he does not lightly let them die.
