SiMrs. Lenora "Sis" Kimble Title

Lenora Noray Kimble, 59, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, September 23, 2017, surrounded by family.

Lenora, “Sis” as she was affectionately called by her family, was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Elnora Green Lee and Dan Warren of Doyline, Louisiana, on December 10, 1957. She accepted Christ at an early age at the Saint Mark Baptist Church of Doyline, Louisiana. She graduated from Bossier High School in 1974 and later attended college in Shreveport, Louisiana. She retired from the United States Postal Service after 31 years of faithful service.

On December 3, 1977, Lenora married her best friend, Barry Wayne Kimble, Sr., in Shreveport, Louisiana, and to this union two children were born: Nickie and Barry, Jr. Later, God added another daughter to their family, Khadija, whom she loved since infancy.  From the very beginning, she dedicated her children to God and instilled in them to have strong faith and love God with their whole heart. Barry, Jr., later confessed his calling to the ministry as a minister. Lenora was blessed with a loving family

Lenora was led by God as a visionary wife, alongside her husband, Reverend Barry Wayne Kimble, Sr., as a Founding Pillar of the ministry of Burning Bush Missionary Baptist Church of Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1999. She had the voice of an angel singing her favorite songs: "Walk Around Heaven" and "Going Up Yonder." She loved her church, the mission to help God’s people, and her family dearly. It showed in her daily walk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elnora Green Lee and Dan Warren, and her older brothers: Dave B. Lee and Willie C. Lee.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her husband, Pastor Barry Wayne Kimble, Sr., Shreveport, LA; children: Nickie Kimble Griffin (William) of Houston, TX; Barry Wayne Kimble, Jr. (Tinetta), and Khadija Johnson Kimble, both of Shreveport, LA;  grandchildren: Zoey Griffin and Zachary Griffin of Houston, TX; brothers: Jimmy Ray Green (Joyce), April Warren (Dorothy), Otis Dale Warren, and Early Green, all of Shreveport, LA;  “God-given” children: Terry L. Smith, Fred and Shemeka Morris, Jermaine and Candace Pitts, Chad and Sharde’ Platter, and Mone' L. Bryant; “God given” grandchildren: Katlynn Morris,  Darnell Morris, Tiara N. Smith, Monty Pitts, Carmen Pitts, and Journee Plater. She also leaves behind a wonderful Church, Choir, Young Adult Sunday School class, United States Postal Service family and a host of relatives and friends.

Lenora had a heart for God, His mission for the church, and people. She was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to share a Word or solve a problem, no matter what. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is in her heavenly home with her creator.

The funeral service was held on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. at the Burning Bush Missionary Baptist Church, 6802 Woolworth Road, Shreveport, LA, 71129, with interment at the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Reverend Clarence Hicks officiated the service.
