Bishop Donald R. Williams’ mortal life ended after a lengthy illness on April 1, 2020, at Willis Knighton- South in Shreveport, Louisiana, at the age of 70.

Bishop Donald Williams was born on February 18, 1950, in (Shreveport, LA) to Charlie Williams Jr. and Mary L. Stephens.  He graduated in 1968 from Herndon High School in Belcher, Louisiana and married Evelyn P. Williams in 1971. Bishop Donald Williams preached his first sermon on January 3, 1988, and was called and ordained as Pastor of Mary Thompson Baptist Church, in November 1996, where he served as Pastor until October 2015.

 

Bishop Donald R. Williams is survived by his wife: Evelyn Phillips Williams of Shreveport, Louisiana; daughters:  Satoyia (Carle) Williams of Arlington, Texas and Eboni Williams of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands; sister: Betty R. (Claude) Williams Tisby of Louisville, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his father: Charlie Williams Jr. of Bossier, Louisiana; mother: Mary L. Stephens Williams of Gilliam, Louisiana, grandparents: Hattie Martin Stephens & John Stephens of Gilliam, Louisiana, and granddaughter: Eryana S. Gives of Shreveport, Louisiana.

 

A Family Hour/Visitation is scheduled for, Thursday, April 9, 2020, from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Washington’s & Smith’s Paradise Funeral Home, 1923 #C North Market Street, Shreveport, Louisiana 71107. Flowers and condolences may be sent to the address listed.
